2016 IEEE President

Home

Friends and Colleagues,

I was honored and humbled in November of 2013 to be nominated by the IEEE Board of Directors as a candidate for the position of 2016 IEEE President.

The 2014 IEEE annual election began on 15 August 2014 and concluded on 1 October 2014.  Thanks to your tremendous support, I was elected by the IEEE membership as 2015 IEEE President-Elect and will begin serving as IEEE President on 1 January 2016.  I received 15,972 votes in this year’s election.  Of the other President-Elect candidates, Tariq S. Durrani garnered 14,831 votes and Frederick C. Mintzer received 14,056. The results were made official when the IEEE Board of Directors accepted the Tellers Committee report at its November meeting, in New Brunswick, N.J.

I will maintain this web site to provide information about my qualifications, accomplishments and my thoughts on the future of the IEEE.  I remain absolutely committed to members' professional lives and passionate about providing increased value for our members, our profession and the public.  My guiding tenets are: strategic focus, teamwork and communication, sound financial models, value of membership, appreciation for volunteers, and value to our profession.

Thank you for visiting my web site and supporting my campaign.

Barry
